GreenFin

Pelletized fish feed, formulated around duckweed protein from our lined raceways near Islamabad. Three lines, Carp Polyculture, Tilapia and Ornamental, all made in pilot batches.

Pack concepts, modelled in 3D. Production packaging may differ.

GreenFin Carp Polyculture

For ponds stocking several carp species together, such as rohu, mrigal and grass carp.

  • Pilot batch
  • In university feeding trials

GreenFin Tilapia

For tilapia ponds and tanks.

  • Pilot batch
  • In university feeding trials

GreenFin Ornamental

For aquarium and ornamental fish, in a smaller pack.

  • Pilot batch
  • Duckweed protein

Grown on our lined raceways near Islamabad, then dried to a meal.

A physical fact about our ponds and equipment.
  • ~31% crude protein

As-is, in one recent pilot batch. Further testing is underway.

Measured by a third-party laboratory on a specific sample.
  • No fishmeal. No soy.

The formulations in our university feeding trials use neither fishmeal nor soybean meal.

What's in it

GreenFin starts with dried duckweed meal from our raceways, blended with other feed ingredients and pressed into pellets.

The formulations in our university feeding trials use neither fishmeal nor soybean meal. We keep full formulations confidential; research partners can see them under a non-disclosure agreement.

Current measurements

These are measurements so far, not a finished specification. Each carries a label for how it was measured.

Still being measured

  • Amino-acid profile, especially methionine
  • Wet-chemistry (AOAC) confirmation of protein values
  • Pellet durability, water stability and sinking behaviour
  • Digestibility
  • Heavy metals and anti-nutritional factors
  • Shelf life in storage

We'll publish a full spec sheet once these are complete.

In feeding trials now

University partners are testing GreenFin with fish in tanks. Results appear on our Evidence page once each trial has been analysed and cleared for publication.

How it's made

  1. Duckweed fronds on the surface of a raceway, seen from above

01 Duckweed grows on lined raceways near Islamabad.

  2. A harvest scoop lifting duckweed from the raceway

02 Fronds are skimmed from the surface at harvest.

  3. A pile of dried duckweed meal

03 The harvest is dried into a meal.

  4. GreenFin pellets

04 The meal is formulated and pressed into pellets.

Availability

GreenFin is made in pilot batches, currently for university feeding trials. Feed mills and fish farms can ask us for a sample, and farm partnerships are being set up.
